Continuing the conversation on Women Fall in Love Using Logic.
There’s a double standard I’ve observed. A change in sentiment between the sexes for the same thing.
Being Process AND Goal oriented.
If a man operates with both we don’t bat an eye. If a woman implores the same approach, we have a lot more to say and labels to give.
Here is a quick review on this concept in modern dating:
To sum it up, if someone is process oriented they place more value on the experience. If someone is outcome oriented they place more value on the result.
Here is a visual for how this applies in the fitness space:
When it comes to connecting with the sexes I believe both aspects are required for a healthy connection. You are aware of your own intentions (outcome) and are able to enjoy and incorporate your partner’s (process).
The interpretation of the sexes being both process and goal oriented result in polarizing opinions. This is where I see the split.
The underlying tone of a woman with a goal of marriage, security or commitment (outcome) who uses femininity (process) to achieve her goal is distaste. The interpretation is manipulation.
If a man has a goal of sex, connection, emotional intimacy (outcome) and uses romance (process) to achieve his goal it’s a man being a man.
In today’s paid episode I discuss this dichotomy and my thoughts around this. Time stamps below for an overview.
