Bearing the truth is easier said than done. It’s the decision to do so that’s become quite profound and even radical.
I wonder how telling the truth has become complicated…
Why does it seem to require an immense amount of courage?
Shouldn’t it feel more natural? Less laborious?
It seems that delivering the truth includes an element of sacrifice… In the name of honesty comes the potential of hurt feelings, shattering perceptions and harsh reality checks.
And I suppose some are more comfortable in those waters than others.
To show up in any form of media, it’s damn near revolutionary to fact check, reveal false agendas and question any narrative.
Maybe truth bearing has become the monumental task it is because we’re surrounded by falsehood.
And maybe truth bearing is inherently sacrificial.
It’s piercing the veil of illusion.
Physical and non-physical.

As my mentor says, the only spiritual task we have here is to “remember”.
According to Amber Khan, it’s remembering the human experience is actually an elaborate light show, to convince us the Dunya is what’s true.
Another fallacy depending on who you ask.
Regardless of spiritual or religious views, living in truth is a sacrifice. Conformity and social acceptance is the risk you face.
Enlightenment aside…. I wonder …. How do you deliver truth?
A valuable strategy to answer the question is knowing where your intentions lie.
Here are a few examples to get your gears turning.
Truth Telling
Source - Intention - Delivery:
My mom - Clarity - Straight forward and to the point. Cuts the fat. Emotions are not associated with gathering the truth and delivering. Feelings can be more distracting.
The Church - Redemption - Convincing, maybe salesy in nature. Brings up the point of objective vs. subjective truth. If it’s true for you is it true for me too? A kind gesture to pitch salvation, but potentially avoiding and ignoring other possibilities.
Southern Belle - Etiquette - Circular in the name of social morres. If it does land, usually in a coded way interpreted as a positive or negative. Doesn’t rock the boat and could loose translation.
Siblings - Prove a Point - Frank with any flavor that the conversation holds. Could be explanatory, inflammatory, provocative or out of love. Varies depending on relationship, conversation and belief system backing the “argument”.’
I like to think I’m pretty well rounded :) But I can turn the dials when needed.
Below is a short video on themes above I recorded about a year ago. Inspired by a Hawaiian teaching on the fern plant. So much on that, but here’s the podcast for now.
Thank you to all of you who continue to show me support. A bonus video for my paid subscribers on identifying the truth. How to recognize it quickly and some personal examples of how I’ve discovered it.
