Mother Archetype

The feminine odyssey continues with the second archetype, the mother.

We initiated this series with the two animations responsible for our existence. The expression that inspires procreation and the one who nurtures it. If there was anything more recognizable than the lover it is the mother.

Here is a recap and some food for thought from the free video:

• The mother archetype has a warm energetic expression, these women are down-to-earth, generous and emotionally available

• The love of the mother is the sustenance of life, one that is enduring whereas the lover is based on presence and the pursuit of passion

• Predating Greek mythology the mother goddess was recognized as the trinity: maiden, mother, crone

  • And more importantly the creator, preserver and destroyer

• Society at large as eliminated the darker (and necessary) elements of mothering and socialized women to do it alone while looking like Easter Sunday the whole way through

• Sexuality is another innate human expression that has been separated from the realm of mothering (even though it’s intricately connected to have children) further fragmenting the feminine psyche

Here are the themes we continue to discuss in the paid video:

• Eleusinian mysteries and rites of passage - the cult of Demeter

  • Recognizing Earth is both the womb and tomb and how the initiates embraced this metaphor mimicking mother nature

• Boundaries are energetic first, rarely do they need vocalization after they’ve been established energetically

• Poor boundaries is an unskillful application of the mother archetype

• How intoxicating the mother archetype can be to men through her specific appeal when combined with the lover
