I have a new series underway!
In the next few weeks we’ll be discussing emotional validation. More specifically the sticky situations we find ourselves in, and how to identify and prevent it from occurring.
Emotional validation is the hallmark in all things toxic relationships, abusive work dynamics and exhausting family ties.
Supporting documentation by yours truly below.
A visual to illustrate my mental concept.
In our series I’ll be focusing on the negative effects (right column) so we can better understand why we’re doing what we’re doing.
To simplify this idea in a few sentences….
Validation is a unique flavor, it’s different for everyone.
Each validation can be classified under 4 categories: appearance, personality, impact and relationships.
These validations reflect evolutionary psychology. As social animals, our consciousness has evolved based on the quality of our connections and whether or not we were accepted by the group.
The middle column is a list by Ayesha K Faines. She discovered people are and validated by “9 hidden addictions”. Her teachings revealed what someone’s intrinsic motivations were so you could appeal to them effectively.
What validates you FEEDS these hidden addictions when you lack emotional regulation
If you have not validated yourself and delegated it to someone else… it results in negative byproducts (right column).
The 5 byproducts we’re going to examine more closely in the next coming weeks.
To kick it off below is a video with more explanation on the chart above with a several real life examples.
And a bonus video for my paid subscribers.
Let’s start chatting.
